About this project
A home for Dutch screenwriting
Dutch film and television runs on screenplays, yet almost none of them are anywhere you can actually find them. They sit in boxes, on USB sticks and buried deep in mailboxes, and the one public collection that existed had not been touched in years.
ScriptHub fixes that. It is the national script library of the Netherlands: a single, carefully curated home where the country's scenarios can be read, discussed and celebrated. An initiative of the Auteursbond, the Scenariovakschool and Scriptbank, it serves a wide audience at once: the 100,000+ film lovers who want the story behind their favourite film, the students learning the craft at the Filmacademie, and the professional writers and Dutch Academy For Film members who scout talent and vote on awards. I designed and developed the whole platform end to end.
Every script gets a stage
Each scenario gets a page that treats it like the film it became. A poster, a logline, the runtime, the page count and the writer credited right up front, alongside live view counts and likes so you can see what the community is reading. Trailers and stills sit beside the text, and readers can like and comment, turning a quiet archive into a place where people talk about the work. One button, Open Script, takes you straight into the screenplay.
Read it the way it was meant to be read
Open Script drops you into a clean, paginated reader built for long-form scenarios. Two pages at a time, a filmstrip of the whole script along the bottom, and nothing else in the way. Reading sits behind a free account, which keeps the work open to readers while keeping it out of reach of AI scrapers.
The writers, front and centre
Behind every script is a person. Writer profiles pull a scenarist's full body of work into one place, with links to their site and socials, and they are claimable so writers can take ownership of their own page. The archive is organised around the people who made it.
Built for the moments that matter
Curated collections turn the library into a venue for events and awards. For the Zilveren Krulstaart, members read every nominated scenario and cast their vote right on the platform. That kind of recognition only happens when people can actually read the work, which is exactly what ScriptHub makes possible.
Designed and built end to end
From the first frame in Figma to the production backend, ScriptHub is a solo build. A cinematic, dark interface that makes scripts feel like cinema, sitting on top of a platform that handles accounts, a protected reader, social features and event voting. A piece of Dutch cultural heritage, finally with a home.
